Gábor Karner has been making wines since 1999. The early years taught him that better quality wine can only be made from his own ingredients, most notably using his own planted, cultivated grapes. Because of its proximity, soil and volcanic origin, the Mátra River seemed a promising option. His hopes were confirmed and he became the owner of this  great small vineyard. 

In spring 2004, some hectares were planted. "My goal is to show  the unique greatness of terroir in wine. This has been achieved by spontaneous wine making, without fining and filtering, but keeping just a few sulfur in use, he brings sincere, living wines to the world.
